Where I am going with this, I don’t exactly know. And I think that’s OK when it comes to art. But, uh, it’s scary. Like when you’re expecting your first child and you know you’re in for a wild ride, but you don’t quite understand yet. But then the baby comes and he hates you and he won’t stop crying. But I digress.
And since I thrive on structure, here are some parameters for this experiment.
1. I will produce 1 piece of artwork daily. Sketches count.
2. Said artwork will be posted on this website. That includes the good, the bad and the ugly, no matter how cringeworthy.
Ok, that’s it. I thought about requiring a variety of mediums, or producing one painting per week. But, no, I think these are enough rules. I am hoping growth will come organically by simply “doing.”
My goal is simple. I want to improve. I want to be proud of my work. To actually like it. And I want other people to enjoy it too. At the end of this year, I want to look back and be able to say that hard work pays off.
Oh, say it will be so.
